Mission Statement
The DRC aims to provide a service that is flexible and reponsive to the individual experiencing mental health issues.
The DRC team will assist service users to identify their own needs and in partnership will offer therapeutic interventions that aim to provide opportunities for education, personal development, a sense of well being and social inclusion.
This work will have a Recovery focus and promote social inclusion, focusing on individual needs and the goal being on integration into the wider community.

Please complete in detail our joint referral form enclosing CPA documentation for all enhanced clients and return to our address.

Our Aim
The DRC is part of the rehabilitation service provision in north Bedfordshire. We work alongside Social Services and the Barford Avenue Centre to provide integrated and flexible approach for the individual. As a specialist therapeutic centre, we provide a friendly and supported environment in which clients can work in either individual or group therapy for their personal development and management of both short and long term problems. We offer a variety of groups that provide practical life skills, education, recreational opportunities, physical fitness and talking therapies.
Who The Service Is For
Individuals with a mental health need who requires support in the community. We offer equal opportunities within the NHS. Individuals can access our service via their GP, the CMHT or any other Health Service. We are able to accommodate specialist needs including wheelchair access and hospital transport.
Attending The DRC
Individuals will be assessed by a member of our team and than allocated a Linkworker to co-ordinate our resources to meet their specific needs. Attending the Day Resource Centre allows clients to access other services in North Bedfordshire, including community projects, leisure facilities and Barnfield College. A variety of social, vocational and nationally recognized awards can be achieved in areas of information technology, catering, art, literacy and numeracy. Our experienced multidisciplinary team work with both cognitive behavioural and psychotherapeutic methods in individual and group therapy.
